Amanda Clardy - Principal

With more than 20 years experience, Amanda Clardy is a builder, creator, change agent and innovator.  She is passionate about applying her skills to building excellence in companies and leadership in people. Ms. Clardy has a background in general management, marketing, communications and finance, having held executive level positions at mid-size to large public companies in the healthcare and technology sectors.


Prior to joining Independa, Ms. Clardy was General Manager of Global eBusiness at Life Technologies, where she oversaw online sales of more than $1.3 billion with a team of sales personnel, digital marketers, IT and user experience professionals.  Prior to that position, Ms. Clardy was the Chief Marketing Officer at Life Technologies, responsible for the company’s global brand strategies, customer relationship management, marketing communications and e-commerce.  Under Amanda’s leadership, Life Technologies transformed how customer’s and the general public view and experience the Life Technologies brand. Ms. Clardy also held the positions of Vice President, Investor Relations and Corporate Communications, and Senior Director, Global Pricing & Analytics while at Life Technologies.  Prior to joining Life Technologies, she held a variety of strategy, finance and management positions at Gateway, Inc., and at industrial technology leader ABB, Inc.  Ms. Clardy earned her MBA at Purdue University and B.S. in Finance from Fairfield University.


Ms. Clardy serves on several philanthropic boards in San Diego and has received accolades for her leadership, including San Diego Businesswoman of the Year and Life Technologies CEO Award for founding the company’s first ever woman’s network to foster professional development and networking.

Christopher Frewin - Creative Director

Christopher Frewin is a creative services and creative development leader with over 20 years’ experience. He has launched, designed and managed B2B and B2C products and services across online, media and sales channels. Responsibilities include oversight of corporate and portfolio brands including positioning, voice, messaging, design, and advertising; management of creative teams composed of product managers, copywriters, designers, production, and external vendors; key leader and member of dedicated innovation teams; regular interaction with sales, VP, EVP, and CMO leadership to steer adoption and execution of marketing initiatives.


Mr. Frewin has led creative and brand for multi-billion dollar companies like Thermo Fisher Scientific, Life Technologies and College Loan Corporation. At Life Technologies, which was subsequently acquired by Thermo Fisher Scientific, he helped changed the way science companies market to their consumers. Working across all mediums of the company, he created high-level creative campaigns, recreated brand architecture across all product/channel categories and creatively lead their in-house advertising agency. While creative director for College Loan Corporation, he developed brand architecture and strategy to help the company become the 7th largest educational lender in the United States. In addition to these positions, he has founded and run his own brand/design consultancy that specializes in finding new and engaging ways to market and brand both large and small companies.

Kim Evans - Marketing & Social Strategist

With over 20 year of experience in marketing, PR and social media marketing, Kim Evans has built brands and developed and implemented marketing strategies for Fortune 500 companies and small start-ups alike.  Spanning the technology, healthcare, biotech and financial industries, Kim can create exact strategies to launch brands and campaigns to the next level.  For companies including Sun Microsystems, Life Technologies, Burson-Marsteller, TurboTax, and more, Kim has built industry leading social media programs from the ground up, led communications campaigns that landed her client in front of global audiences, built award winning reviews programs and word-of-mouth social marketing campaigns that generated multiple millions without any spend, and developed messaging platforms to elevate her client above the noise.  Kim revels in a good marketing challenge and loves to employ strategies that are unexpected to achieve results that wouldn’t have been as possible otherwise.


Kim graduated from the University of California, San Diego with a major in communications and a minor biology and chemistry.  When not working, Kim’s loves to be traveling with her husband and 3 kids.

MaryAnn Ross is our Social Media and Marketing specialist.  She uses social platforms to help companies relay their products and beliefs to the consumer and public.  MaryAnn has a background in sales, project management and marketing.  Working with Fortune 500 companies in her past endeavors, she uses her knowledge and business skills to appeal to the masses in a fun and dynamic way.  MaryAnn is great at taking direction and understanding the companies she works with, while helping them feel authentic and making sure they appeal to their audience.
